Yesterday, Churches around the world held great celebrations.  The Church recognizes Easter Sunday as the day we celebrate  Jesus' resurrection. It's the most significant Sunday of the year because as Paul states in 1 Corinthians 15: 16-18 "17And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.". The Resurrection is the foundation and lynchpin of the Christian faith.

Great, we celebrate the tomb being emtpy, we have special musicals, and services to honor this occasion, but what do we do now that it is Monday?  Easter has come and gone.  What are Christian's supposed to do now as we wait 365 more days until we celebrate this day again?  Well, lucky for us Jesus told us what to do.  He says in Matthew 28:18-20 which is also known as the great commission " 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

What did He mean by that?  Jesus was giving the blueprint as to what to do on Monday the day after the Resurrection.  He says to " Go into all the World and make disciples"...  Jesus is telling His disciples and also telling us today that we need to get outside of our church buildings and our comfort zones and go into the world and tell people of this fantastic news that the tomb is empty.  The empty tomb isn't the end of a Christians calling, but the beginning, there are many people that God has put into our lives that need to also here how and why this event of the tomb being empty is so important and why we choose to celebrate it.  To celebrate Easter at church but tell no one about it robs the tomb of the saving power.  Jesus didn't come to just save us and for us to live our lives as if everything was great.  He died for us so we would go and tell the world about what He did.

So Church, Easter may have come and gone, we went to church, worshipped, spent time with loved ones, for some of us we are back into weekly routine of work and family, but it doesn't end there, it just begins.  Let's take this wonderful story, and share it with those around us, lets try to get as many people into God's kingdom so the next time we celebrate Easter there will be more people there.  Let's Go into all the World and make disciples!
